Multiaxis shapes are typically turned between centers, as there are significant vibrations if the off-center piece is not supported by the tailstock. Similarly, this project utilizes a single piece of wood captured between centers, and remounted on multiple axes to create its dynamic form.
We discuss in detail mounting techniques, turning in tight spaces, and eccentric turning. There are many other options that can be turned with this technique.
